Deep Kneaded Healing, officially, opened the door to clients August 9th of 2021.
Run independently by, sole proprietor (myself), Danielle Ireland.

How I got here:

I completed the Master Massage Therapy Program at Houston School of Massage in August 2017. Shortly after, I became licensed to practice in the state of Texas. Prior to this, I had gone to college in Georgia for nursing. Despite having a 3.8 GPA and having all but one of my prerequisites completed, I decided to change course. I love what I do and I'm so grateful that I did!

My fiance, Michael, took a job with the state of Tennessee in July 2020. He moved to an apartment in Martin, TN while I still had an apartment in Texas. I packed my car up and made several trips back and forth. After a few months in the apartment, we started looking at houses. As soon as I saw the room that is now my Studio, I knew that it would be where I did my work! We put in an offer shortly after viewing.

My lease ended, in Texas, January 31st. I successfully moved everything out and to Tennessee by that time. We moved into "The Little Red Schoolhouse" Febuary 4th, 2021. I spent time setting up the house and getting everything I needed to get licensed and start business in Tennessee.
I officially, opened for business August 9th, 2021.

Why I do what I do:

Since I was a child, I knew I wanted to help people when I grew up.
& I was also great at puzzles.

Between dying in a car accident when I was 18 and having to learn to walk again, and not knowing I had Celiac disease until I was 28, I've been through and learned a lot physically.

I've realized the importance of being solution-oriented. Of believing there is better. Of believing in better until I see better. Of not accepting that it will "take years to walk again."
I've realized the importance of facing reality. Facing how I feel. Facing how my body feels. And getting curious enough to hunt to discover what would make me feel better.
(without highly addictive pharmaceuticals or taking ibuprofen until I get ulcers)
I've learned that it's best to find the root rather than treat the symptoms. Because the root won't fix itself.

I've taken everything I've learned in my own experience, & use it to help my clients.

One of the biggest things I've come to realize, on every level of being,
is that you have to go into the pain to get out of it.
& more importantly, that it doesn't have to be painful.
Well, it does "good hurt"..
(which is a term many of my clients use without me ever saying it)
but it can be focused, present, gentle & intentional.

& in my experience, that's the only real way to release, relax & restore.

Oh, and back to puzzles.
A lot of times where you're hurting physically, is not the actual area that is causing the pain.
& I really enjoy solving those puzzles for my clients.

I've had quite a few clients that were recommended surgery,
that no longer had the pain or need for surgery after our session(s).

& the joy of being able to do that for someone?
THAT is why I do what I do.
